The MA program offers deeper and broader studies in the various disciplines offered by the department, in both modern and premodern times, combining theoretical and textual courses as well as courses from other departments. In addition, MA students hone their knowledge in Middle-eastern languages – Arabic, Persian and Turkish, according to the student’s choice.
Students who write a thesis experience hands-on research work in an area of their choosing.
The MA studies proceed in one of two tracks:
- Research (including thesis) – a GPA of 90 in BA studies (in both the major and degree final grades)
- Theoretical (without thesis) – a GPA of 80 in BA studies
